With Skoda MBX car beyond borders of ordinary days

Skoda MBX Club Praha /Prague/ is founder of traditional MBX reunions (rallies) in Mlada Boleslav. MBX Club Praha focus its activity on organizing own meetings and rallies since 1999. The Tradition was set by organizing the 1. Historical Meeting of the  MBX cars in Mlada Boleslav in 2001. Furthermore MBX Club Praha stays in contact with foreign Skoda clubs. Our MBXes are attending foreign Meetings by getting there on its own wheels across europe on highways. A TVD in the Netherlands acclaimed our cars very well in 2002 and 2007, as well danish Skoda Club on SkodaTour rally in 2008. We also attend to historical research as well as further technical activities connected with the run of these vehicles together with fair human relations.

A Parking of the Automuseum Skoda in Mlada Boleslav happened to be the place of  Skoda MBX Meeting 2009 toghether with the friends, supporters, owners and admirers of the Czechoslovak legend of  sixties era  – Skoda 1000 MBX and Skoda 1100 MBX cars.

This two door model of classic Skoda MB (four door, called „Embetchko“) is after forty years since its production  technically and historically much accounted not only inlands but also abroad. Skoda 1000/1100 MB/MBG/MBX, produced in 1964-69, became not only a symbol of Czechoslovakia motorization but also for then boys a symbol for the whole life.

The MBX was produced from autumn 1966  in dual carburetor version on original engine in count of 1403 pieces and since spring 1968 with engine capacity 1107 ccm with 1114 pieces. Since that time only a few running and fully operational vehicles has been preserved. This concerns a few dozens of MBXes in Czechia  and  a few couples in Slovakia. Also important fact is that for many former owners, who wanted this car to be a commercial source how to get rich, this car was waiting it the pre-renewal stage as a source of spare parts and often it ended up as dissmantling car and in disposal. Therefore the count of original MBX cars does not rise dramatically in the MBX register but stays on constant level. Two door MBX car became a real legend for me and other fans from MBX Club Praha as well as a memory of sixties in Czechoslovakia, when there were prevailing cars with engine in the rear of the car with the back axle drive in Europe.

The Meeting of 21 MBX cars in 2009 is history now. Yet the Legend of MBX goes on through Czech Countyside and is approaching next horizon in year 2010.  In this anniversary year for us, as its ten years since year 2001 when we organize the rallies, we expect not only traditional MBX car Meeting 2010 in Mlada Boleslav, but also many other interesting actions together with 1st National MBX Tour 2010 in Chrudim.

Our Club and fellowship is opened to all owners of MBX cars, our  actions are characterized by friendly and strain glamour, so that all people could enjoy and savor their leasure time in appropriate way.
